SAPPHIRE Silver-Plated Star-Quad DC Cable

This high performance DC cable is constructed with some of the finest wire available.

The topology of the wire is inductance-lowering 'star-quad', ideal for DC power supplies.

There are four heavy gauge (AWG 18) conductors, themselves comprised of stranded, silver-plated copper wire.

The insulation/dielectric of each conductor is PTFE (Teflon), and the star-quad bundle is surrounded by a complete silver-plated braided shield.

On top of the shield is a tight, durable jacket. And on top of the jacket is a beautiful and soft woven antistatic sleeve.

Device end plugs are the excellently machined and gold plated Oyaide DC-2.5G or DC-2.1G, standard 5.5mm other size DC barrels--with silicone spacer rings to adjust for DC jack insertion depth.

We offer these cables primarily for UpTone JS-2 or JS-4 owners. The JS-2's output jacks are 5.5mm x 2.5mm so the versions with DC-barrel plugs both ends will always be that size at the power supply end. (marked with a red band behind the shell).

The DC output jacks of our advanced new JS-4 are 4-pole Neutrik SpeakON type. So we now offer our SAPPHIRE cables with that plug at supply end and either 5.5mm x 2.5mm or 5.5mm x 2.1mm at device end.

You simply need to determine the DC jack size of the equipment you are powering and choose device-end plug size of either 5.5mm x 2.5mm or 5.5mm x 2.1mm. (Let us know if you are unsure of which size to choose; we know the DC jack size for many components and if we are unsure we can tell you a easy trick to make a definitive determination.)

Length is always 1.5m (5-feet). Other than the above we generally do not offer custom terminations or other lengths.

UpTone is a MUTEC dealer, the popular REF10 Nano can be powered from an external 15VDC supply, and our new JS-4 is wonderful match for that fine reference clock. Yet the DC input jack of the REF10 Nano is an unusual type accepting only a special Lumberg brand plug. Therefore we offer a version of the SAPPHIRE cable with SpeakON >> Lumberg. Please order that only if you own both a JS-4 and a Mutec REF10 Nano.

The UpTone JS-4 triple-regulated dual-output power supply has a unique feature which allows for two units to be connected in parallel—to deliver up to 8 amps (or one 6A output and one 2.1A out based on setting of the MODE switches. Doing so requires a both a specially built 'Y' cable and a 20-inch coaxial/SMA cable (to link the two units for equal load sharing).  We sell these cables together. See photos.
